Babymetal at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill

The Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill is about to get international! On July 3rd, the Japanese icons BABYMETAL will be coming to you in Sterling Heights, MI.

Back with their new “North America Tour,” BABYMETAL will be touring across the nation this summer, but they won’t be alone. The band will be joined by the European champs Jinjer and Southern Asia’s heavy beasts Bloodywood. 

Headliner

BABYMETAL is a Kawaii and J-pop infused Heavy Metal band from Japan. Formed in 2010 by producer Kobametal, aiming to give the heavy genre a new innovative sound. The band's current members are Suzuka Nakamoto as "Su-metal", Moa Kikuchi as "Moametal" and Momoko Okazaki as "Momometal" and are backed by a session band named Kami Band. Since its formation, BABYMETAL have released four studio albums and 13 singles, with popular hits such as ‘Gimmie Chocolate!!,’  Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!,’ and ‘RATATATA.’ BABYMETAL’s reputation and growing fanbase come from the great metal fusion music as well as the band’s capability to capture the audience during live performances. The band has shared the stage with many well known and award winning musicians such as Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Avenged Sevenfold and Pop icon Lady Gaga. BABYMETAL have won many awards such as “Best Album of the Year” from MTV Video Music Awards Japan and “Best Live Act” from Loudwire. Although from Japan, BABYMETAL has a global fanbase with over 3 Million monthly listeners from the Americas, Australia and Europe.

Jinjer

Jinjer is a Ukraine based Heavy Metal band formed in 2009. The band released two self funded EP before getting signed on by the Leaders Records in 2012 and Napalm in 2014. Since their record label signings, Jinjer has released five studio albums with the latest published on February 2025. The band’s major global popularity came from their two European tours in 2017 with Arch Enemy and their first North America tour with Cradle of Filth in 2018. Jinjer’s top popular singles are ‘Teacher! Teacher!,’ ‘Outlander,’ and ‘Pisces’ which is one of Metal Hammer’s "The 100 Greatest Metal Songs of the 21st Century," at number 57. 

Bloodywood

Bloodywood is an Indian Heavy Metal band that infuses Nu-metal and Asian instruments, creating uniquely ethnic yet heavy music. The band was formed in 2016, covering pop songs as a parody. Bloodywood’s global fame came after covering Linkin Park’s hit ‘Heavy’ which became so popular that got featured on top Heavy Metal media outlets such as Loudwire and Metal Hammer. Bloodywood’s first studio album with original material was released in 2022, titled ‘Rakshak,’ which delves into social and political topics.
