It was in 1999 when the All American Rejects formed, and their music was like a breath of fresh air in what was becoming a rather stale industry. Their self-titled studio debut album was a hit when it was released in 2002 and brought their name into the mainstream, along with the hit single “Swing, Swing” from that album. The group was then signed to DreamWorks Records, and a reissue of their debut single was done on a broader scale, bringing even more attention to the band.
In 2005, the band's "Move Along" sophomore album was released, solidifying the group's legendary status and securing their legion of devoted fans from all over the world. From that album, hit singles like "Move Along," "Dirty Little Secret," and "It Ends Tonight" all reached the top 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Additionally, it was certified as double platinum.
With 2008 came the band's third album, “When the World Comes Down,” which brought the band gold status for that album and the band's biggest and arguably best song, “Give You Hell.” That single moved up the ranks on the Billboard Hot 100 all the way to number 4. A fourth album released in 2011 titled “Kids in the Street” spawned yet more hits such as “Someday's Gone,” “Beekeeper's Daughter,” “Kids” in the Street," and “Heartbeat Slowing Down.”
The AAR have a plethora of awards and nominations too, including those from the Teen Choice Awards, MTV Music Video Awards, and UK Music Awards, and was even inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.
With over 10 million album sales, it should come as no surprise that they have cemented themselves in the industry with legendary status influences huge numbers of creates and amassing huge amounts of devoted fans.
