The Michigan Lottery Amphitheater prides itself on bringing the best live entertainment to it’s stage. And aims to encourage a great concert experience that is safe and easy to enjoy. To make sure this is the case, guidelines must be followed.

Please read before attending any live event and abide by these rules at all times:

There are a range of general rules and regulations in place at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre that guests must follow when they attend an event at the venue. 

These regulations ensure that guests get the best possible experience while they are visiting. They are also in place to maintain the safety and security of everyone at the venue. 

Let’s check out some of these policies so you can be sure that you abide by them while you are visiting. 

Code of conduct

The code of conduct at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre outlines the expectations of guests attending the venue. They revolve around giving respect, maintaining proper etiquette, and treating others with dignity. Here’s a summary of some of the key points:

» No fighting 

» No throwing any objects

» No wearing clothes or displaying signs or products with inappropriate content, such as indecent or obscene images or messages

» No unruly behavior, such as abusive language, derogatory behavior, or obscene gestures. This includes discriminatory behavior, such as gestures, actions, or language regarding gender, race, age, disabilities, religion, color, or creed.

» Refrain from actions that could be disruptive to other guests or performers

» Be responsible when consuming alcohol

» Only consume alcohol if you are over the age of 21

The staff at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre are well within their rights to remove you from the venue without a refund if you break any of these code of conduct regulations. 

Bag policy

Any bags clutches, clear bags, fanny packs, or wallets that are larger than 4 inches by 6 inches by 1.5 inches are strictly prohibited. However, there are a few exceptions to this rule, such as medical bags needed for medical or dietary necessities. 

These bags must be smaller than 16 inches by 16 inches by 8 inches, and they can include necessities such as insulin, oxygen, bags for diapers, Epi-pens, or any other medical devices. 

Clutches, wallets, or single-compartment bags that do not have a strap or handle or are smaller than 4 inches by 6 inches by 1.5 inches are allowed within the venue. 

Security

Upon entering the venue, all guests will be screened. Entry will not be permitted if guests do not go through the screening process. 

This process includes the use of a walk-through metal detector. This can also include a handheld wand, if applicable. 

A bag search will also be initiated, though this is only for medical and diaper bags as per the bag policy. 

Be aware that the security entry process can be subject to change at any given time depending on the event. 

There is also a no re-entry policy, so you will not be allowed back into the amphitheater if you leave. 

Prohibited items

Several items are prohibited during your visit to the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre, including the following:

» Aerosol cans such as pepper spray, mace, or hairspray

» Air horns, including kazoos, horns, bullhorns, fog horns, and didgeridoos, to name a few

» Aluminum bottles 

» Ammunition

» Any animal except for approved service animals

» Any banners larger than 11 inches by 17 inches

» Any device that creates optical illusions

» Any device that can interfere with the depth or distance perception in the eyes, such as pinwheels

» Any general beverage except those for medical, dietary, or religious necessities 

» Any flags larger than 11 inches by 11 inches by 17 inches

» Any kind of alcoholic beverage

» Any signs larger than 11 inches by 17 inches 

» Any thrown, missile-like objects

» Any wheeled vehicle that is not ADA-permitted

» Bags that do not abide by the above bag police

» Balloons

» Beach balls

» Baseball bats

» Bicycles

» Brass knuckles

» Cameras that have detachable lenses longer than eight inches

» Coolers both hard-sided and soft-sided (except coolers needed for dietary medical or religious reasons)

» Devices for audio and video recording, such as GoPros, monopods, or tripods

» Drones

» Explosives

» Fake weapons

» Firearms

» Fishing nets and poles

» Fireworks

» Food from outside, except food for medical, dietary, or religious necessities 

» Frisbees

» Glass bottles

» Golf clubs

» Hockey sticks

» Hoverboards

» Inflatables

» Illegal narcotics, including related accessories or paraphernalia

» Knives

» Laser pointers

» Marijuana, including related accessories or paraphernalia

» Metal container bottles

» Poles

» Rollerblades or roller skates

» Scooters

» Selfie sticks

» Skateboards

» Toy weapons, such as super soakers or squirt guns

When it comes to banners, signs, and flags, you must abide by the above height limitations. They must also not obstruct the line of sight of other guests and not have messages that could be considered offensive or obscene. No messages are allowed on them that are political or commercial. 

Banners, flags, and signs are also not allowed to be paraded on any kind of permanent structure, such as a stick or pole. 

Permitted items

The following items are allowed on the premises at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre:

» Baby bottles

» Bags that meet the criteria stated in the bag policy

» Baseballs

» Basketballs

» Beach chairs that are no larger than 12 inches from the ground to the seat bottom when unfolded

» Binoculars

» Blankets

» Bottled water that is 20 ounces or less. This must be in one clear factory-sealed plastic bottle. One single, empty, crushable plastic water bottle (also 20 ounces or less) is also allowed.

» Cameras that have detachable lenses less than eight inches

» Cardboard tubes for posters

» Coats, vests, or gloves that are battery-operated

» Collapsible chairs that are not larger than 12 inches from the ground to the seat bottom when unfolded.

» Diaper bags that match the mentioned size criteria

» Headphones

» Hockey pucks

» iPads

» Knitting needles

» Laptops

» Medical bags that abide by the mentioned size criteria

» Non-obstructive umbrellas without pointed tips

» Personal fans that are battery-operated

» Seat cushions (only with soft surfaces rather than metal surfaces)

» Single-serving food needed for dietary, religious, or medical reasons

» Signs and banners that are not affixed to anything and are smaller than 11 inches by 17 inches

» Small portable radios

» Strollers

» Tablets

» Wheeled vehicles approved by the ADA

Please note that umbrellas are not permitted to be opened during events. The only situation where this is allowed is when a rain delay for an event is in progress. 

Emergency procedures

In the event of an emergency at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre, the PA system will broadcast the necessary announcements. 

Guests can also tune into AM 1640 for announcements, as this channel will broadcast updates related to the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre. 

Any guests with special needs should contact the closest Event Colleague, as they will assist with the evacuations. 

To make a potential evacuation run smoothly, guests are encouraged to always be aware of their location and to identify the two exits closest to their seats.
